Paul John Willrich, son of John Willrich and Ella, nee Scar, was born in Madison County, Iowa, on May 12, 1917. He was baptized in Zion Lutheran Church, Dexter, on June 24, 1917 and confirmed in the same church on July 12, 1931. He attended public school in Madison County and high school in Dexter. He also was a student at Iowa State University in Ames for three years.

On January 1, 1941 he was married to Barbara Marsh of Dexter. The union was blessed with three children, Ronald, Patricia, and Bradley.

The departed entered the army air corp Sept. 23, 1942. He served overseas in the China-Burma-India Theater of Operations. He was discharged Dec. 22, 1945, after which he was engaged in farming south of Dexter. In 1970 he and his wife moved to Dexter, and since that time he was employed at the Bench Implement Co. at Stuart.

Paul departed this life suddenly on Tuesday, August 15, at the age of 55 years, 3 months, and 3 days. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; two sons, Ronald of Montezuma, Iowa, and Bradley of Earlham, Iowa; one daughter, Patricia, Mrs. Laree Imboden of Dexter; three grandchildren; his parents, and one sister, Mrs. Helen Douville, of Chamberlain, South Dakota.

Memorial services were held on Friday, August 18, at Zion Lutheran Church, Dexter with the Rev. Norman M. Luecht officiating. Interment was in Dexter Cemetery with Evans Funeral Home in charge. The active pallbearers were: Charles Jurgensen, James Clausen, Ray Lenocker, Earl Gray, Ed Donnelly and Norman Roberts. Honorary pallbearers were: Jasper Lenocker, Russell Wells, Max Mount, Warren Neal, Lonnie Bench, and Vern Algreen.
