Services for Mrs. Charles Willrich were held Monday afternoon, Dec. 27 in the Lutheran church with interment in the Dexter Cemetery. Mrs. Willrich passed away Thursday evening in the Dexter hospital at the age of 73 years.

Survivors include her husband Charles, a daughter, Mrs. Marlin Piatt (Phyllis) of Dexter, a son Ted of Corvalis, Oregon, five grandchildren, and four sisters, including Mrs. Carl Schafer of Dexter.

Clara Ella Willrich, nee Marsh, the daughter of John Marsh and Minnie, nee Wilkelman, was born in Adair County, Iowa, on September 20, 1898. She was baptized in the Lutheran Church in infancy. Early in her childhood she moved with her parents to the Dexter Community where she resided during all of her life. She was confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church, Dexter, on March 31, 1912 by the Rev. Herman Schmidt.

On September 20, 1919 she was united in marriage with Charles E. Willrich. The union was blessed with two children.

Mrs. Willrich was a charter member of Zion Lutheran Ladies’ Aid, a member of the Senior Fellowship, and also several civic groups.

She passed away after a short illness at the Dexter hospital on December 23, 1971 at the age of 73 years, 3 months, and 3 days. She was preceded in death by her parents and her five brothers, Henry, Will, Lawrence, Charles, and Roy. She is survived by her husband, Charles, one daughter, Phyllis, Mrs. Marlin Piatt, of Glendale, Ariz., one son Ted, of Corvallis, Oregon, five grandchildren and four sisters, Anna, Mrs. Carl Schafer, Dexter; Lil, Mrs. Henry Christian, Minneapolis, Minn.; Ruth, Mrs. Ted Smith, Mason City, Iowa; and Lee, Mrs. Ralph Heacock of Mt. Holly, New Jersey.

Funeral services under the direction of the Evans Funeral home, were conducted at Zion Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Norman M. Lueht officiating. Interment was at the Dexter Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Marsh, Howard Harsh, George Marsh, Paul Willrich, Fred Clausen and Leonard Scar.
