Betty Madeline (Beane) Davis, 79, of Stuart died at her home Wednesday, July 2.

Betty was born in Adel March 4, 1929, the daughter of Tom and Ruth (Brown) Beane. She grew up in the Puckerbrush area and graduated from Van Meter High School in 1946.

She married Dorr Davis Sept. 16, 1954, and tougher they had three children: Mary Pat, Tom and Helen Rose. She worked at the Dexter Clinic Hospital, Northwest Hospital in Des Moines and Iowa Methodist Medical Center until her retirement in 193.

Betty was a witty and humorous person who could also show a bit of stubbornness from her Scotch-Irish heritage. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She also was an avid animal lover, and loved her dogs Rascal and Kona Rose. She loved to cook and bake, and was known for her sour cream raisin pie.

Betty was involved with her church and was overjoyed at the completions of the fellowship hall.

She loved a good laugh and her hybrid irises. She will be miss by all, but she is with the love of her life, Dorr, who she never stopped missing.

Survivors include son Tom (Barb) Davis of Stuart; daughter Helen (Kelly) Forshier of Dexter; grandson Eli (Anna) Davis of Polk City; grandson Tyler Forshier and fiancée Tonya of Syracuse, N.Y.; granddaughter Jennifer Rude of Waukee; great-grandchildren Alexis, Monte and Ashlyn Davis, all of Polk City; beloved family friend Dyan Schaffer of Des Moines; her dog Rascal and grad-dog Kona Rose. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Mary Pat, brother Carroll Beane, sister Margaret Eloise Feller and nephew Daniel Beane.

Special thanks to Theressa, Angie and Krista with Hospice of Central Iowa (Dallas County). Heartfelt gratitude to Tonya Otto and family, Jane Findley and Shelley Muhm for the love and kindness they shared with Betty.
