Dexter—A service for Myrtle C. Downing, 68, of Dexter was held July 27, 1983 at the United Methodist Church at Dexter with burial in the Dexter Cemetery. Mrs. Downing died July 24.

She was born May 10, 1915 at Conde, S.D. to Anton and Mernie Brandt Wettstein. She married Wayne Downing on Oct. 10, 1950 at Conde and the couple had one child.

The Downings moved to Iowa in 1965 and to Dexter in 1980.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Tony of Hiawatha; two brothers, Willis of Edgerton, Wis., and Jim of Conde; and two sisters, Evan Holm of Redfield, S.D. and Elvira Dewey of Janesville, Wis.
