Dexter—A funeral for Clyde E. Emory, 83, of Dexter was held June 13 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Redfield. Mr. Emory died of pneumonia June 10 at Veterans Medical Center in Des Moines.

The son of John A. and Minerva Currington Emory, he was born in Jackson, Ohio on March 12, 1909. He married Ruth M. Miller at Crown Point, Ind. on August 24, 1929.

He lived and worked as a painter in Indiana and retired to Dexter in 1974. He was an active member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses religion until his illness kept him housebound.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a daughter, Patricia.

Survivors include his wife Ruth of Dexter, a son Clyde (Dick) of Clinton, Ind.; sister Louise Ross of Danville, Ill.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
