Robert W. Creager, 69, of Dexter, died of a heart ailment Thursday, April 26, 2001 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Services were held April 30 at Dexter United Methodist Church in Dexter, of which he was a member. Burial was at the Dexter Cemetery.

Robert Creager was born in Dexter and had lived in Des Moines from 1949 until returning to Dexter in 1990. He was a retired maintenance engineer with National Handcraft in Des Moines and had played in the band Bob Creager and the Westones.

He is survived by two daughters, Pam Ussery of Des Moines and Beth Lister of Earlham; a brother, Robert L. Creager of Dexter; two sisters, Ruth Killingsworth of Mead, Neb., and Jean Carlson of Longview, Texas; and three grandchildren.

His fiancée was Mary Ross of Jefferson.

Ruppert Funeral Home in Stuart handled the arrangements.
