Gary Lee Carter, 53, of Casper, Wyo., died suddenly Oct. 20, 2004.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Bustard’s Funeral Home in Casper, Wyo.

Gary Carter was born Dec. 29, 1950, in Dexter, the son of Wilbur and Margy Carter. He was raised and educated in Earlham.

He moved to Casper, Wyo. in 1969. On March 17, 1984, he was married in Las Vegas, Nev. He worked as a welder in the oilfields for 26 years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, sports and riding his Harley.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Jolene Carter; a son, Joshua Carter of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; a daughter, Courtney Armstrong of Novato, Calif.; two brothers, Ron and Randy Carter of Ankeny and Dale Carter of Des Moines; one sister, Sharilynn Algreen of Dexter; and two grandchildren.

Kuhn Funeral Home of Dexter, was in charge of local arrangements.
