Page 1, Column 5Dexter Man Ends Life at State Hospital
John Bookout, of Dexter, 67 years old, committed suicide Sunday by leaping from the second floor of the state hospital at Oakdale. Despondency due to ill health is thought to have caused the act, as he had been suffering from tuberculosis for many years. He is survived by his wife and two children.
