Donald “Craig” Carrick, 66, of Dexter, Iowa, died Friday, December 25, 2015 at Kavanagh House on 56th in Des Moines, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 31, at Faith Lutheran Church in Adel, Iowa with Pastor John Burger officiating. Burial will be in the Dexter Cemetery at Dexter, Iowa.

Craig was born on April 17, 1949, at Jefferson, Iowa to Donald and Dorothy (Morlan) Carrick. He graduated from Adair-Casey High School and received his Associates degree from DMACC. He was married to Ann Schwenneker on July 12, 1970 at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Adair, Iowa. He had lived in Dexter for 15 years, living prior to that in Adel. He had been a parts counterman for 41 years at Ziegler Cat in Altoona. Craig was a current member of the Dexter City Council and a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.

Craig is survived by his mother, Dorothy Carrick of Greenfield; wife, Ann Carrick of Dexter; children, Sheri (Steven) Robinson of Des Moines and Don (Lisa Kruidenier) Carrick of Adel; sisters, Glenda (Doug) Handley of Shawnee Mission, KS and Gaynel (Jeff) Picken of Urbandale; and grandchildren, Callah and Keaghlan Robinson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Carrick; sister, Donneley Morrison; and brother, Ron Carrick.

Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the church. Memorials given to the family will be directed to JDRF (in honor of Callah), Faith Lutheran Church, or Dexter Fire and Rescue.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCalley Funeral Home in Adel.
