Francis G. Bebout, 80, of Woodward passed from this life on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. There will be no funeral service held. Cremation rites have been accorded and private family committal services will take place at Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Iowa at a later date.

Francis was born on Oct. 21, 1926 in Dexter, Iowa, to Clarence and Hazel Nichols Bebout. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the United States Navy. On June 30, 1948, Francis married Juanita M. Scott in Dexter, Iowa and their marriage was blessed with three sons. Francis was formerly employed as a D.C. electrician with Oscar Meyer in Perry, for nearly 22 years. He had also farmed land in Woodward.

Francis was a member of the Woodward American Legion, Moose Lodge and a charter member of the Woodward Golf Course. He was also an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Juanita Bebout of Woodward; two sons, Steve (Betty) Bebout and Jerry (Shawn) Bebout, both of Woodward; six grandchildren, Desiree (Jay) Reading of Davenport, Travis (Meggan) Bebout of Des Moines, Lance Bebout and his fiancée, Christine Winn and her daughter Cassidy of Ft. Collins, Colo., Shay Bebout also of Ft. Collins, and Matt Battani and Kate Battani, both of Woodward; two sisters, Ruth Zorens of Tucson, Ariz. and Sue Davis of Long Beach, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. Francis was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and one son, Scott Eugene Bebout.

Iles Funeral Homes—Brandt Chapel in Woodward was in charge of arrangements.
