Mrs. Nancy Jane Bales of Redfield, passed away at Des Moines on Saturday, November 23 at the age of 80 years. She was born on September 5, 1888 at DeSoto and received her schooling and grew up at Dexter.
Funeral services at the Redfield Methodist Church were held Tuesday, November 26, at 2 p.m. The Rev. John Latta was in charge. Casket bearers were Berle Burnham, Rex Pollard, Joe Keeton, Alvin Morrow, Glenn Sloan and Gene Martin. Burial was at the Dexter Cemetery.
Mrs. Bales is survived by six children, Elizabeth Fenn, of Dallas Center, Edwin and Wyman Bales of Redfield, Walter of Milwaukee, Wisc., Hugh of Richardson, Texas and Richard of Des Moines. Also nine grandchildren and two brothers, Art Gowin of Dexter and Dean Gowin of Des Moines and one sister, Bertha Billings of Van Meter.
