Miriam Swanson, 95, of Adel, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017 at Adel Acres Nursing Home

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel. Burial will be in the Paton Township Cemetery at Paton, Iowa. Family will greet friends Wednesday before the service from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at McCalley Funeral Home.

Miriam was born on Oct. 21, 1921, at Lake City, Iowa to Arthur & Millie (Rice) Pankey. She was married on 1939 at Lake City, Iowa, to Eugene Martin Swanson.

Miriam is survived by her daughters, Donna (John) Simpson and Sharon (Robert) Spring; daughters-in-law, Mary Swanson and Kathy Swanson; and sister, Wanda Oleson; 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Millie (Rice) Pankey; husband, Gene Swanson; son, Gary Swanson and Dean Swanson; infant sister, Lois Pankey; grandsons, Scott Swanson and Steve Ware; and great granddaughter, Ashley Baker.
