Isabel Potter was born July 1, 1848, in Jones co., Iowa near Canton and grew to womanhood. On Feb. 2, 1868, she was united in marriage with Jacob Pitsenbarger.
In the fall of 1871, they came to Dallas co., Ia. and soon after purchased a tract of wild prairie land in Lincoln Township, which they improved and made for themselves a home. It was here that all their children were born.
Nine children were born to this union, 5 boys and 4 girls. When she was about 15 years of age she was led to embrace the Christian faith and united with the Christian Church. Her father and mother being members of that church.
She departed this life at her home in Linden on Nov. 19, 1921, being 73 years, 4 months and 18 days old. She leaves to mourn her departure one brother, John Potter of Casey, Iowa, one sister, Rachel Gilmore of Idalia, Colo., 4 sons, and 11 grandchildren and one great grand child.
The funeral was held at the Christian church in Linden, Tuesday, Nov. 22 at one o'clock by Rev. A. Lewis, and was attended by a large concourse of friends and neighbors from the Shilo neighborhood, as well as from Linden, who came to show the high regard they had for the worthy mother, friend, and neighbor.
