Wynette Williams, 102 of Waukee, passed away September 18, 2012 in Johnston, IA. Visitation will be, Friday, September 21, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m., with funeral services, Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 11 a.m., both at Ernst Funeral Home in Waukee.

Burial to follow at the Waukee Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mercy Hospice or Animal Rescue League.

Wynette was born on a farm South of Waukee on May 17, 1910 to Ted and Josie Forret.

She married Harry C. Williams on January 1, 1930. Wynette played in the first all female band in the state of Iowa. She loved to crochet, sew, knit, cook and dance. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and of course her two dogs Deedee and Tuffy.

Wynette is survived by children: Jack (Rita) Williams of Fleming Island, FL, Luanna Spencer of Waukee and Shieli Johnson of Waukee; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Dorothy Leaman of Mission, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons-in-law Don Spencer and Dwight Johnson, daughter-in-law Betty Williams and sister, Marie (Robert) DeCamp.
