Marcia Brauckman, 59, died Monday, December 17, 2012, at home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, December 20, at Iles Funeral Homes-Brandt Chapel in Dallas Center where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow services at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery near Dallas Center.

Marcia was born in Carroll, Iowa on March 5, 1953, to Alfred and Evelyn (Pittman) Brauckman and moved to Dallas Center in 1955. She graduated from Dallas Center Community High School in 1971, lettering in basketball all four years. Marcia continued to play AAU Basketball right after high school for a few years. She worked for Look Magazine, Meredith Publishing, EDS and finished her career with CDS Global. Marcia moved to the Granger area in the early 1980's. One of the greatest joys in her life was her pets.

Marcia is survived by her mother, Evelyn Brauckman of Perry, her siblings, Donna Schlenker of Dallas Center, Marlene Brauckman and Connie (Bud) Bruse, both of Grimes, Dave (Deb) Brauckman of Minburn, Darlene (Dan) Thomas of Madrid, and Alan Brauckman and Terry Brauckman, both of Perry; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Brauckman.
