Della Elvira Eickelberg was born to Louis and Lena Eickelberg on a farm July 17th, 1928. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in which she served her Savior with loyalty and devotion. She was an active member of the Lutheran Ladies Aid and of the Junior Fellowship of this congregation, serving the later organization as secretary and treasurer. Upon her graduation from high school she enrolled as a student at the Iowa State College at Ames where she graduated in the year of 1949. On March, 1950 she united in marriage to Dale Clausen of Dexter. After the graduation of her husband from Iowa State College of Veterinary of Medicine they moved to Stuart. Three children blessed this union. They are: Deborah, Denise and Darlene. On Friday, August 3rd she was taken to the hospital in Des Moines suffering from a serious infection. Failing to respond to medical treatment she departed this life at the age of 28 years and 24 days.

Surviving mourners besides her husband and three children and her mother, Mrs. Lena Eickelberg of Janesville, three sisters, Bertha, and Mrs. Richard Briden, both of Janesville, and Mrs. Ray Long of Bettendorf, a brother, James, also of Janesville and her in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Clausen of Dexter.

Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church at Dexter, Monday, August 13th with Rev. A. C. Weber in charge. A quartette of Mrs. LaVerne Black, Mrs. Howard Benz, Leonard Scar, and Don Weber, sang with Mrs. Paul Clausen at the organ. Casket bearers were Howard, George, and Robert Marsh, Harold Jobst, Henry Saxon and Eugene Martens. Interment in the Dexter cemetery.
