Mrs. Gilbert Standing Services Thursday

Mrs. Gilbert Standing, 69, died at her home Monday morning after a lingering illness. Her children were all present at this time.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Conservative Friends church. Burial will be in the Bear Creek cemetery.

Asenath J. Henderson, daughter of Joseph and Anna P. Henderson was born in Norwich, Ontario, Canada April 5, 1888, and departed this life July 22, 1957 at the age of 69 years, three months and 17 days.

In the year of 1891 the family left Canada and settled in a Friends community near Paullina, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood.

May 25, 1911 she was united in marriage to E. Gilbert Standing, making their home near Earlham, Iowa.

There remain to mourn her loss her husband, six daughters, two sons, twenty-three grandchildren, her step parents, three brothers and a host of friends, and other relatives.

Her parents, two sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.

She was a birthright member of Friends in which she had always taken an active interest.

In spite of many years of being seriously handicapped by affliction, her cheerfulness and courage in serving her family and community was an inspiration to all.
