Herbert Wayne McKray was born at Earlham in Dallas county, Iowa, on March 30th, 1934, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth McKray. The family moved to Bellevue in 1942. He became ill early this year and was released from suffering by the call to Eternal Blessedness on the evening of April 14th, 1948. He was fourteen years, two weeks and one day of age.

Besides his loving parents and his sister Beverly he leaves his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. McKray of Earlham, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray E. Sellers of Russell, Iowa. His uncles and aunts include, Mr. and Mrs. Harold McKray of Des Moines, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Clell Sellers of Dexter, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sellers and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Sellers of Russell, Iowa, and Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Sellers of Chariton, Iowa. He also had nine cousins and a number of other relatives and friends who are saddened by his passing.

Herbert had a cheerful disposition. He was a loving, obedient and helpful son and brother in the home. He was a co-operative and courteous pupil in the eighth grade of the Bellevue schools, where he was loved and respected by teachers and schoolmates. He loved life in its fullness and proved the high quality of his character by his respect for fairness and righteousness and by his patience in suffering.
