Denise M. Couchman, 65, passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 at Kavanagh House in Des Moines. A celebration of life service will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 with visitation starting at 10 a.m. at McLaren's Resthaven Chapel, 801 19th Street West Des Moines, IA. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery.

Denise was born November 25, 1947 in Wayne County, IA to Rex L. McMurry and Lois M. (Smith) McMurry. She retired from Nationwide Advantage Mortgage and spent her free time with her family members and friends. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; two sons, Christopher, his wife Kimberly, two grandchildren, Brady and Katelyn Couchman and son, Steven and two grandchildren, Lily and Lucy Couchman; her mother, Lois McMurry; brother, Gary (Judy) McMurry; sisters, Cathy (Alan) Grismore and Debbie (Mark) Rosa; mother-in-law, Beverly Couchman; sisters-in-law, Joyce Carpenter and Deloris (Gary) Sprecher; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father Rex, her father-in-law, Paul Couchman and daughter-in-law, Kristi Couchman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to HCI Kavanagh House on 56th Street.The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Westberg, the nurses and staff at Iowa Methodist Powell Center, and the staff at the Kavanagh House for all their caring and support. ~ The Des Moines Register Legacy, Des Moines, Iowa 18 Feb 2013.
