Died, at her home near DeSoto, August 1st, Amanda Katherine VanMeter, aged 71 years, after an illness of one week duration. The funeral was held in the Christian church at DeSoto Saturday at 2 p.m., conducted by Mr. Denton and her body buried in the DeSoto cemetery at the side of her husband. She leaves one son and four grandchildren who mourn her loss, besides many friends who loved her for her kindness, gentleness, patience and all the attributes that help to form a beautiful character. Hers was a noble life lived through many trials, and well deserves that reward which is promised to those who love and serve Him.
