Died, at her home in Adel on last Sunday, Mrs. J. H. Cook, aged 71 years. Mrs. Cook was one of Dallas county’s old settlers, having lived there since 1864. She was a woman of whom it would be impossible to say too much in her praise. She was held in highest regard by all who knew her. She leaves a husband and ten children to mourn her loss.

The funeral services were held in the M.E. church at Adel on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. Denton of DeSoto. Her body was borne to its last resting place in the Otterman burying ground by her six sons, and laid by her four children who had gone before her.
