Olie L. Randall Died February 17

Olie L. Randall, the youngest son of Simeon and Esther E. Randall was born July 16, 1889, and departed this life February 17, 1940 at the age of 50 years, seven months and one day.

He was born at the farm home of his parents near DeSoto, Iowa, and spent his childhood and early youth in that neighborhood. His school days were spent at the old Sears School which is not included in the consolidated school district of DeSoto.

In the spring of 1905, his father purchased a farm in the Bear Creek neighborhood north of Earlham and moved there with his family. This has been Olie’s home since that time. During his entire life time he was a resident of Dallas county.

Olie was ever industrious and hard working, since early manhood taking a large share of responsibility in the management of the farm. As a brother and son he was always thoughtful for the welfare of the other members of the home. As a neighbor he was honest and upright in his dealings and ever ready to give assistance in time of need, especially in times of sickness or bereavement. His greatest interest was in the home which he had shared with his brother Arthur and sister Elsie who will sadly miss him.

When Olie was a boy of only twelve years, his mother passed to the life beyond. Eleven years ago the family circle was again broken by the death of the father. One brother, Homer G. also preceded him in death on June 10, 1933.

Besides his brother and sister, there are also left to mourn his loss a niece, Marie Plath; two nephews Wilbur and William Randall; two great nephews, Harold and Donald Plath; a sister-in-law Lorena Mitchell Randall, all of Ogden, Iowa, besides a number of other relatives and many friends.
