Earlham Echo – Earlham, Iowa
July 1899

Nora E. Cook, daughter of Wm. and Mary L. Cook, was born Oct. 18, 1884, and died last Saturday morning, July 8, 1899. Her mother died when she was but three months old, and for the following six years Nora made her home with her grandfather Cook. At this period her father was married to Emma Smith, and Nora returned to her new home where she lived until her death.

About a year ago she united with the Christian Endeavor, and in the last weeks of her stay here she gave many evidences of her hope of a home beyond.

The funeral service was held Sunday afternoon from the Friends Church, conducted by the Pastor. A large number of friends of the young woman and the family attended the impressive service, after which the interment was made in the cemetery at Bear Creek.

The deceased was a beautiful girl just coming into young womanhood and had a host of friends who mourn their loss in her death.

She died in the triumphs of a simple faith.
