Louise Anne Davis of Booneville passed away on July 15, 2008 at the age of 78. She was born on May 22, 1930 in Waukee. On August 6, 1949 she married Silas N. Davis. Louise was primarily a farmwife and later was employed by Brady Motor Freight and retired in 1985 as office manager from McLaren’s Mortuary .
Louise enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles and going to casinos. Her biggest joy however, was her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years Silas (Si), sons Ron of Macksburg and Ike (Vickey) of Prole, daughters Patricia Tonsi (Jim) of Des Moines and Marilyn Davis-Daniels of Mt. Juliet TN; sister June Gilham of Waukee, grandchildren Kari Davis, Kristi Mathis, Kiel Davis, Julie Davis, Angela Collum, Sharon Tonsi, R.C. Johnson and Lucas Johnson, and nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Louise was preceded in death by her parents William and Alice (Huston) Gilham and brothers Warren, William and Royce Gilham.
Visitation will be held Friday July 18, 2008 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Ernst Funeral Home with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Services will be held Saturday July 19, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Ernst Funeral Home in Waukee with interment at Booneville Cemetery. A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow at Booneville United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Madison County Health Trust (Hospice Renovation) at 300 W. Washington in Winterset IA 50273 or Hospice of Central Iowa. Please note on donations "In Memory of Louise A. Davis."
