John Bingman died on the 30th ult., at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Benson, living two miles north of town. He was 88 years old. He was born in North Carolina, and while still in his youth removed to Indiana, finally coming to Dallas county, Iowa in 1855. He was a good citizen and gave his share to the service of his country, as some of his sons sleep in the soldier’s grave. During the many years that we have known him we have never heard anything but good spoken of him.

Note: Burial is in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Union Township, Dallas Co. Iowa.
