Rebecca "Becky" Burt, 52, of Van Meter went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 17, 2008 following a six year battle with breast cancer.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Valley Church in West Des Moines. Cremation will follow the service. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the church.

Becky was born and raised in Des Moines, graduated from Lincoln High School, and attended DMACC completing an associate's degree in nursing. She was a RN in the neonatal intensive care unit at Blank Children's Hospital for 27 years. Becky was a member of Valley Church and was active in women's bible study groups. Her passion was photography, gardening, family and God. Becky is survived by her husband of 17 years Greg of Van Meter, her daughter Jill (Robert) Mackey of Moville, Iowa, her two sons Josh Burt of Earlham and Casey Burt of Van Meter, her father Robert (Mary) Abild of Atlantic, her grandchildren Jordan Mackey and Damian Burt, her two brothers Greg (Kathy) Abild of Van Meter and Russ (Janet) Winship of Des Moines, her sister Christine (David) Nikunen of Omaha, Nebraska as well as numerous family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Gerry Finken and her mother Gerene Winship.
