Van Meter, November 5. Special-Word was received here last week of the death of Willis Minteer on Monday, Octobver 29th, at his home at Conrad. The Minteer family were formerly residents of this community. About twenty years ago they moved to Kansas and later returned to Grundy county. Mr. Minteer's health had not been good for several years, but it was not known his condition was serious until about ten days before his death, when the trouble was pronounced cancer of the stomach.
He leaves his wife, four daughters, Villa and Edith of Monument, Kansas, Jennie of Page, Kansas, and Sophia in Missouri; one son, Harry of Conrad; a brother, James of Neeley, Nebraska and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Lynn of Conrad and Mrs. Mary Ford of Minneapolis, all of whom were in attendance at the funeral Wednesday.
