Born in Ames, IA on Dec. 29, 1935
Died on Aug. 13, 2008 and resided in Redfield, IA.

Harold "Chappy" Chapman, 72, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at home from complications of Emphysema. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8pm Friday, August 15 at Iles Funeral Homes-Brandt Chapel in Dallas Center to celebrate his life.

Chappy was born in Ames and moved to Adel in 1936. He lived in the Waukee, Adel and Redfield area all of his life. Chappy farmed his entire life. In retirement he enjoyed catering for many parties and celebrations and baking for family and friends and the Iowa State Patrol.

Chappy is survived by his wife, Judi, his children, Jerry Chapman of Adel, Nancy (Clark) Tindall of LeMars, H. Robert (Elizabeth) Chapman, Jr. of Des Moines, Caroline (Al) Ver Schuer of Urbandale, Sue (John) Hughes of Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin, Diana (Mohammed) Inanlou of Mashad, Iran, David (Mary Anne) Chapman of Conyers, Georgia, Peggy Chapman of Adel, John Wilkinson of Panora, Jennifer Wilkinson and Jill Wilkinson both of Des Moines; 26 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, his brothers, Harlan Chapman and Kenny (Linda) Chapman both of Adel and the mother of his children, Rita Rehfeldt of Waukee. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, his daughter-in-law, Kim Wilkinson and his nephew Randy Chapman.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family for dispersal to the Redfield Fire and Rescue, the American Legion or the Mercy Cancer Center.
