Fleet Riley Stump was born May 25, 1880 on a farm near Waukee and departed this life at his home, Dec.3,1934 aged 54 years, 6 months and 8 days. On Sept.26,1906 he was united in marriage to Vera M. Cook who preceded him in death Feb.10,1919. To this union four daughters were born. On Feb.21,1923 he was united in marriage to Josephine Whinery. He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. James Cadwell of Dallas Center; Mrs. Helen Hunter, Mrs. Agnes Bass and Mrs. Evelyn Hunter, all of Waukee; by his father, Mr. S. A. Stump and one sister, Mrs. Maude Aldrich, six grandchildren and other relatives and a host of friends who loved him very much. His mother, Mrs. S. A. Stump, passed away just 11 months ago and laid to rest in the Van Meter cemetery. He united with the Church of Christ in Waukee in 1908 and has been one of the most faithful and devoted workers the church has had all these years. Serving as deacon and elder practically all the time since he became a member. A good man has gone to his reward. Perhaps a multitude of words could say no more.

(Burial-Waukee cemetery-gravestone says "Father Fleat R. Stump 1880-1934 & Mother Vera L. Stump 1888-1919"
