Adel Woman BurnedRecord: Mrs. George Kinkennon was seruosly burned Saturday afternoon while saving her daughter Ruth from a serious accident. The two girls had been playing at a bonfire in front of the house when in someway Ruth's dress caught fire. She ran screaming toward the house and a piece of good luck her mother was close at hand. She grabbed the child and rolled her in a piece of old carpet that was fortunately at hand smothering the flames. As a result of the accident Ruth was badly burned. Although her colthing was burned through and her hip some what scorched, but Kinnenon suffered severely. Her left hand was so badly blistered she had to have a doctor and he was forced to dress her hand. While the accident was serious in its results with Mrs. Kinkennon there were two features was the fact that she was close at hand when it happened and the other that the piece of carpet was laying where it was.
