ANGEL OF DEATH TAKES MISS BIRDIE ANDERSON
The entire community went into deep mourning Thursday afternoon when it was learned that Birdie Anderson had passed away at her home at 12:45 PM. Although her health had been failing her the past nine months, it was not thought that her life would be ebbed away so suddenly. She retired from her position in the Kiron State Bank the later part of August 1932 for a needed rest to regain her health. It was her firm belief that with the summer months she would begin to gain. Last Sunday she had a relapse and grew weaker until the end came. She has received the most tender and loving care from her mother, her brother and family and her sister, Mrs. Amy Johnson of Omaha who helped care for her the past five weeks. She was so dearly loved that every body was glad for any little deed they could do for her.

Birdie Eunice Jeanette Anderson, was the daughter of Robert and Anna Anderson, born to them January 12, 1897 in Sac county, Iowa. They moved to Kiron when she was but a few years of age and ever since Kiron has been her home. She completed her schooling here and later attended college at Denison. In 1917 she took a position with the Kiron Telephone Co. as operator. This position she filled most efficiently for eleven years, after which she accepted a position as teller in the Kiron State Bank, and this position she filled efficiently until her health would not permit her. The position was held open for her had she regained her health. She was satisfied only with work well done, in whatever she undertook to do.

The whole community senses a deep personal loss in the going of Miss Anderson. Her life is the finest example of Christian living. She was truly a beautiful and perfect flower from the tree of life. The beauty and strength of her life will ever linger in our memories. Her aim was always to help, never to hurt. Many beautiful tributes are given to her from her great host of friends. She had a sweet and wholesome personality. She was converted on February 15, 1907 and later baptized and became affiliated with the Ev. Free Mission church in 1913 of which she was a most loyal and faithful member. She taught in various departments of the Sunday School. A faithful and willing worker in the Young Peoples Society and the choir. For many years she served as pianist in her church. Her place was always filled as long as her health permitted. She was one who could be relied on. She was staunch in her religious faith, never faltering and contributed liberally to the cause. In her home, in the church and among her many friends the loss is keenly felt. She was a gracious spirit wherever she went and was most highly esteemed and loved.

She leaves to mourn her untimely death, the bereaved mother, two sisters Mrs. I. A. D. Johnson, of Denver, Colo, and Mrs. Bert Loomer of Hayes township and a host of other friends and relatives. One brother died in infancy and her father passed away in 1922. She had attained the age of 37 years, 3 months and 21 days. Her life's work is ended but the memories of her beautiful life will ever linger with us.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the home and at two o'clock from the Ev. Free Mission Church assisted by Rev. G. Carlson and conducted by Rev. H. A. Faugerstrom and also assisted by Rev. J. Cedergren. Beautiful singing was rendered by a vocal duet. "Sunrise Tomorrow" by Ellen and Myrtle Nelson and "We'll Understand it Better." by Miss Ellen Carlson, Mrs. Herbert Tuneberg and Mrs. Irvin Linman. Many beautiful floral pieces were banked about the casket speaking in silence of the high esteem and deep love for the departed sister. She was borne to her last resting place by Newell and Ralph Clauson, Irvin Linman, Glenn Goetsch, Paul Cedergren and Milton Nelson. Interment was made in the family lot in the community cemetery. Peace be to her memory.
