Fred Eckert, Pioneer, Dead.

Fred Eckert, an old citizen of Charter Oak and pioneer of this county, died at his home over there last week Thursday from heart failure. He was 87 years 6 months and 20 days old, making him one of the oldest men of the county.

The funeral of Mr. Eckert took place on Sunday from the home. Deceased leaves four children, William Eckert, Mrs. Louie Pankow of Denison, Mrs. Will Pankow, and Mrs. Peter Hansen, besides many grandchildren, and other relatives.
