WESTSIDE VISITED
BY DEATH’S ANGELJohann Dierenfeldt Dead of
Bright’s Disease, Passing Away
Last Friday NightAfter an illness of seven weeks, caused by Bright’s disease, the soul of one of our most aged and respected citizens was called across the great divide Friday night. Johann Herman Dierenfeldt was born June 8th, 1850, Glashlute, Prov. Posen, Prussia, in Germany and died at his home in this city May 29th, 1914, reaching the age of 63 years, 11 months and 20 days. In 1868, at the age of 18 years he emigrated to this country and located at Aurora, Illinois. On July 21, 1877, he was united in marriage to Miss Amelia Schultz. To this happy union five children were born, Mrs. Ida Rickers, Mrs. Clara Wiebers, Gustav, Reinhart, and Emil. In 1881, he moved from Aurora to north of this city, where, with his family, he lived until seven years ago, when he moved to this city and he and his wife have since resided here. Mr. Dierenfeldt was a devoted and loving husband and father, always working for the best of his family and community. He was a quiet and religious man always treating everyone right, and never going out of his way to make trouble for others. He was a member of the German Lutheran Church of this city, never failing to attend the services when it was possible to do so. The deceased leaves to mourn the departure from this earth , besides his grief stricken wife and five children, four grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Nobling, of Arcadia, three brothers, John, William and Louis. The funeral services were held at the house and German Lutheran Church Monday afternoon. Internment was made in the Westside Cemetery, Rev. Karl Fauth conducting the services. May he rest in peace.
