Obituary.
Mrs. John McGrin, sister of Mr. John Kearney of this city, passed away at Pierre, S. Dak., Thursday, May 17th, at St. Mary's hospital. Her death was due to heart failure and other complications.
The Pierre Free Press printed the following account of her death which will be of interest to friends of the family residing in thts locality.
"It was with surprise and sorrow that the many friends of Mrs. John McGrin heard of her death Thursday forenoon at St. Mary's hospital, in Pierre. Death was due to heart trouble and other complications.
Mrs. McGrin was born at Davenport, July 24, 1855. She was married to John McGrin at Denison, Iowa Nov. 4, 1874. This union was blessed with seven children, three sons and four daughter: J.P. McGrin, Miss Isabel and Mrs. Nellie MacDonnell, of Pierre, Mrs. P.F. O'Gara, of Hartington, Neb., Mrs. J.H. Garrigan of Galva, Ill., and James, of Wrupp, Wash., also Joseph of Burns, Mont., all of whom survive her. She is also survived by her husband and two brothers, one sister and nine grandchildren.
The funeral was held Monday morning at 10 o'clock from the Catholic church in this city, Father Harrington officiating.
