Mildred Elnora Ridgley was born in Bicknell, Indiana, July 16, 1913, the daughter of Charles Edward and Mary Beals Fielder. She received her education in Vincennes, Indiana, where she was graduated from high school.

On November 13, 1933, Mildred was united in marriage with Joseph O. Ridgley at Olney, Illinois. She and Joe farmed for many years in the Vail, Iowa, vicinity later moving to Kalispell, Montana.

In later years Mildred attended and was graduated from Saint Anthony's School of Nursing in Carroll, Iowa. Following her graduation she returned to Kalispell where she worked in nursing and had an antique business. Years later, they moved to Spokane, Washington, where Mildred owned and operated another antique shop. In 1980, they retired and moved to Irwin, Iowa.

Mildred's lifelong hobby was centered around collecting and selling antiques.

She was a fifty year member of the Eastern Star and a member of the Irwin Church of Christ.

In November of 2001, Mildred moved to the Manilla Manor, Manilla, Iowa, where her death occurred Friday morning, March 16, 2007. At the time of her death she had been blessed with 93 years and 8 months.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Fielder, husband, Joseph Ridgley, brother, Edgar Fielder and an infant daughter, June.

Those remaining to cherish her memory include four children and their spouses, Phyllis Jean and Don Ferry of Irwin, Iowa, Joseph Gail and Sylvia Ridgley of Denison, Iowa, Carol Cathleen and Don Smith of Scottsdale, Arizona and Edward Earl and Martha Ridgley of Meadow Lake, Texas, 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 17 great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at the Pfannebecker Funeral Home in Denison, Iowa, with Pastor Ted Sieck, of the Irwin Church of Christ officiating. Music for the service included Pastor Ted Sieck singing "God Will Take Care of You" and "In The Garden" with Peggy Ahrenholtz serving as organist. Pallbearers included Rod Ferry, Lee Ferry, Tim Ridgley, Steve Ridgley, Chuck Richards and Tedson Ridgley. Interment was at Oakland Cemetery, Denison, Iowa. Following the services the family invited everyone to join them at Cronks in Denison for lunch and a time of fellowship. Pfannebecker Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of arrangements where, at 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 19, 2007, a prayer service was held with Pastor Ted Sieck officiating followed by an Easter Star Service conducted by the Irwin Chapter No. 182, Order of Eastern Star, Irwin, Iowa.
