Bernadine Maria Siegner Kropf, the daughter of Henry and Susan Flynn Siegner was born May 23, 1920, along with her twin sister Bernadette. She passed away March 9, 2007 at St. Anthony's Nursing Home in Carroll, Iowa.

She attended St. Ann's grade school completing the 8th grade. As a young girl she worked as a housekeeper for different family's around Vail.

November 10th 1941 she became the bride of Leonard Kropf they spent 53 years together as a loving couple.

She lived and worked in California as a waitress and laborer at the bomb factory during the war.

After the war they returned to Denison and opened the U & I cafe where they served all home made food. During this time she was a devoted servant to St. Rose of Lima Parish.

During the late 50's and early 60's she and her husband traveled around the mid west states with the Skelly Oil Company.

For 35 plus years they lived in Wichita, Kansas where members of St. Ann's parish and Dean worked many hours for the pastors and the whole parish.

Throughout those years she also had a number of different service jobs always being a very organized worker.

Much to her disappointment she suffered a stroke in June of 1998 and returned to Iowa and settled at St. Anthony's Nursing Home in Carroll. She has been under their loving care for the last 8 years.

Preceded in death by her husband Leonard. Her parents, brother Jim Siegner, sister Betty Lillehom and her husband Donald and her brother-in-law Lawrence Gallagher. She is survived by her twin sister Bernadette Gallagher and sister-in-law Joyce Siegner. Many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews plus many great friends.

Mass of Christian Burial was held 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 12, 2007 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Vail, Iowa. Fr. John Thomas served as celebrant of the mass and grave side rites held at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Vail. Organist Irene Feilmeier provided accompaniment for the St. Ann's Family Choir as they sang "On Eagles Wings," "Gentle Woman," "Immaculate Mary," and "The Old Rugged Cross." Cecelia Thelen served as lector, Ryan Ricke and Greg Sporrer were mass servers, Donna Sonnichsen, Judy Robinson and Mary Wulf were gift bearers, and Margie Nagl and Geri Ricke placed the symbolic pall. Eucharistic ministers were Cornelius Gallagher, Cecelia Thelen, and Lawrence Thelen.Those serving as pallbearers were Cornelius Gallagher, John Siegner, Damian Gallagher, Dale Lilleholm, Pete Siegner, Joe Siegner, and Paul Siegner. Sunday prayer services included a Legion of Mary Rosary at 4:30 p.m., and a Scriptural Wake Service at 7 p.m., at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. The family invited everyone in attendance of the mass to join them in fellowship and lunch served by the St. Ann Parish Teams. The Huebner Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of the arrangements.
