Timothy Todd Martens was born May 14, 1987, the son of Todd and Candace Ueding Martens. He passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2007 in Hurley, Wisconsin at the age of nineteen.

Tim was born in Denison, Iowa and received his education at Zion Lutheran School and graduated from the Denison Community High School with the class of 2005. He was baptized in Christ on June 14, 1987 at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison and later confirmed there on April 29, 2001. After completing his education, in addition to farming he worked for Crawford County Ice before becoming employed by Slechta Masonry.

He was an avid outdoors man who loved life. He enjoyed horseback riding, boating, fishing, hunting and farming. Tim also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, 4 wheeler and snowmobile. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Tim was preceded in death by his Papa Clark Martens, great-grandparents, Harry and Ethel Martens, Vernon Neuman, Vern Neilsen and Alice Storm. Survivors include his parents, Todd and Candace and sister, Jessica of Deloit; grandparents, Connie and Terry Crawford of Denison; Carol and Robert Neilsen of Dow City; great-grandparents, Helen Neuman of Denison, Lorretta Neilsen of Sioux City and Lyle Storm of Lyons, Nebraska; also numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Tim was a friend to all, and behind every tear that is shed there is a memory that Tim created.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, February 5, 2007 at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa. Rev. Kurt Kaiser officiated the service and grave side rites held at the Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison. Karen Kahl provided the organ accompaniment for the congregational hymn "Jesus Loves Me". Soloist, Eldon Hardekopf sang "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and "On Eagle's Wings" and CD "Who You'd be Today" by Kenny Chesney was played. Pallbearers were: Landon Burhoop, Justin Poggensee, Joe Poggensee, Darren Slechta, Jake Sachau, Jerry Neilsen, Terry Ueding, Larry Neilsen, Gary Neilsen, Eric Martens, Travis Weier and Andy King. A time for sharing of memories was held at 6 P.M., Sunday at the Huebner Funeral Home. The family invited everyone in attendance at the service to join them in fellowship and lunch at the church, served by the Dorcas and Evening Guild. The Huebner Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of arrangements.
