Harley Godberson, age 71 years of Papillion, Nebraska, formerly of Denison, died Sunday, January 14, 2007.

Godberson was an Omaha Police Officer for 29 years, and was with the Marine Corps and Reserves for 20 years. He was also with the Omaha Public Schools for 13 years.

Visitation was from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Kahler-Dolce Mortuary in Papillion.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 18, at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 5015 S. 80th Street, Ralston, Nebraska. Interment was at St. Johns Cemetery in Bellevue, Nebraska.

Memorials may be made to The Messiah Lutheran Church and Marine Corps League.

Godberson is survived by his wife, Joyce; his children, Phil Godberson of Overland Park, Kansas, Joe and his wife, Mary, Godberson of Omaha, Nebraska, Julie Godberson of Wahoo, Nebraska, Bruce and his wife, Sheila, Froendt of Omaha, Brett and his wife, Jackie, Froendt of Omaha, and Brenda and Paul Jacobsen of Elkhorn, Nebraska; 16 grandchildren, Jordan, Taylor, Paul and Owen Godberson, Elizabeth and Nicole Miller, Alex, Nick, Hanna and Cory Jacobsen, Adam, Amber and Alexis Froendt, Abby Wojtkiewicz, Steph Gould and Tim Cich.
