I am also looking for my 3x great grandfather's family. William Gilmore of Clinton, IA. He was married to Anna Larson. I do believe there are 2 William Gilmores who lived in Clinton, IA at the same time, and may have even worked at the same company. They were only a couple years apart. So I'm thinking they may have been cousins. My William is buried in the Springdale Cemetery in Clinton, IA.
Please contact me. I haven't run into anyone else searching for the Gilmore family in Clinton. :)
