I have scanned a number of Clinton County obituaries, wedding announcements, engagement parties, etc. that were clipped by Margaret Walrod McDonald and Carrie Gilbert McDonald. There are some sixteen pages altogether on families related to the McDonalds, the Walrod’s, and the Gilbert’s. They are from about 1910 through 1950. One of these is the story of the funeral for A. S. Allison from March 1910. He was born 9 September 1821 in Rockingham County, Virginia. I shared a copy of the scans with the Central Community Historical Society Museum in DeWitt.

A. S. Allison married Rosanah Betz. Rosanah’s sister Elizabeth married Hiram Walrod, Margaret’s father. According to the story, Almira Allison, daughter of A. S. and Rosanah married Levi Harrington; Josephine Allison married a Scaggs; the spouse of son Robert D. Allison is not identified.
