The 1856 census shows James and Amy Vance in Olive twp. with an Abner living with them. This Abner was actually Amy's father and his last name is Mott, not Vance. An 1850 census for Hume NY has these 3 in the same household as well. Abner Mott was from Dutchess County NY. James Vance was likely originally from Orange Co NY. by deduction.
