Rudolphus S. Dickinson

I am trying to find out any information about R.S. Dickinson. He founded the town of Dixon Ia in 1854 and I live in the house he built. I have been contacted by his great great great granddaughter to try to find out as much as I can. The granddaughter sent me an article that stated R.S. also founded the town of Calamus, but it's says Calamus is in Cedar county-I think it's a typo. It also states that he had holdings in Grand Mound with a Milo Smith, and owned a large general merchandise emporium built in 1861 and began to deal in grain. What I would like to know is if there is any more information on this man. Being that he possible founded two towns in Clinton County and one in Scott, there must be more information out there.
