Elvira "Bear house"

LEPPER, PRIME, MATHER

My 4th gt. grandmother, Mary Prime (also Braeme) wife of John Lepper died in 1863-according to family lore in the "old Bear house" in Elvira,Ia, and was buried in or near Elvira, but not in the present cemetery. John was buried on the family farm three miles northwest of DeWitt in 1840 and reinterred in 1940 in the Elmwood Cem. in DeWitt, Ia. Does the "old Bear House" mean anything to anyone? And does anyone know of her place of burial? Their Clinton Co. descendants include Walrod, Mather (also: Marther, Marthar). Thanks- Kent
