Ramona, Do not find them on the 1870 census in Clinton co but elswhere on this site, excellently maintained by Nettie Mae, are records for Center Grove cemetery in Center twp. indicating a Johann Ommen died Sept. 17th 1878 and a Theda Margaretha Ommen dying April 6th 1881. In neighboring Jackson co., Richland twp., 1880, a Margarete Ommen is enumerated as m-i-l to John Wohlenburg. John's wife Eliza, 41, could be the 20 y/o Eliza on the 1860 census for John B Omen. In 1870 Alverich & Lydia are indeed in Castle Grove twp. with 2 mo old son. Dick
