Frank J. Honeywell, 69, of Clinton, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015 at his home.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Prairie Union Cemetery, rural Low Moor. Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Nielsen, Mitch Nielsen, Rob Beer, Joshua Beer, Tony Luett, and Marc Newman. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Robert Schroeder, Gary Klimstra, and Jim Jess. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting his obituary at www.snellzornig.com.
Frank Joseph Honeywell was born on February 3, 1946 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Robert L. and Darlene (Lange) Honeywell, Jr. He was a 1964 graduate of Clinton High School. He married Diane Nielsen on November 16, 1974 in Elvira.
Frank was employed in the wheel shop with the Chicago Northwestern/ Union Pacific Railroad for 21 years. He later worked for Mount. St. Clare College in maintenance for eight years.
Frank was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, all types of music especially classic rock, following the Pittsburg Steelers and the Iowa Hawkeyes, spending time on the river and rebuilding cars. What he enjoyed most in life was spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Frank is survived by his wife: Diane of Clinton; one son: Schawn Honeywell of Parkview, Iowa, two daughters: Carrie Luett of Clinton, and Sarah (Marc) Newman of Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren: Macayla, Payton, Avery, Benjamin, Joey, Andrew, and Katy, two sisters: Susan (Paul) Chadourne of Hernando, Florida, and Jill (Stephen) Burbank of Crystal River, Florida, and one brother: Robert Honeywell, III, of New Albin, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father in law, his brother-in-law: Dean Nielsen, and his sister-in-law: Therese Honeywell.
Memorials can be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
