Clarence O. Hancock

Clarence O. Hancock, 99, of Elizabeth, died Wednesday at Morgan Memorial Nursing Home, Stockton, Ill.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Elizabeth. The Rev. Amy Poust, pastor of Stockton (Ill.) United Methodist Church, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Freeport, Ill.

He was born June 24, 1906, in Elizabeth to Oscar and Ameilia Menzemer Hancock.

He was a graduate of Elizabeth High School.

He married Edna V. Koehn on Sept. 8, 1937, in Duluth, Minn. She died in 1994.

He and his wife owned a trucking company in Elizabeth. They also farmed in rural Elizabeth and worked together preparing and cooking for the Sugar and Spice Restaurant, Freeport, Ill.

Survivors include three sons, Cleland (Judy) Hancock of Littleton, Colo., Tom (Theresa) Hancock of Belvidere, Ill., and Dennis Hancock of Stockton; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Bernita Curtis of Savanna, Ill., and Ruth Hansen of Sherburn, Minn.
