LUVERNE R. VOGT

LuVerne R. Vogt, 92, died at United Manor on January 9, 2006 She was born February 13, 1913 at Ipswich, South Dakota the daughter of John E. and Mabel (Clark) Riley.

LuVerne taught in the rural Grand Mound schools. Gerald was a farmer in the Grand Mound area.

On November 28, 1935 she was united in marriage to Gerald Vogt in Clinton, Iowa. Gerald died January 24, 1993.

She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist where she taught Sunday School. LuVerne enjoyed sewing,chair caining and she loved to embroider. LuVerne had a soft spot in her heart for baby farm animals.

Survivors include her children, Gary Vogt of DeWitt, IA, Elizabeth Braet, Billings,Montana, Imogene Reggie, Scranton, PA. and Cathleen (Ronald) Petersen, Low Moor, IA.; eleven grandchildren, Dirk Braet, Suzy Wedeward, Dana Braet, Tina Thomas, Dan Reggie, Linda Reggie, Anthony J. Reggie, Jerry Reggie, Jovanna Speger, Troy Petersen and Colin Petersen; seventeen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters Elizabeth Gore and Margery Doolittle and two brothers George Riley and William Riley.

Visitation will be 2:00 until 6:00 p. m. on Friday at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Grand Mound. Pastor Nancy Bender will officiate.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Mound, IA.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
