Mabel B. Zuidema

MORRISON, Ill. — Mabel B. Zuidema, 72, of Morrison, died Saturday at her home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The Rev. John Lloyd, pastor of the Church of the Open Door in Clinton, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison.

Pallbearers will be Terry Denning, Rob Lange, Eric Noble, Ethan Noble, Layne Noble and Cody Zuidema.

She was born May 31, 1933, in Hooppole, Ill., to Harley and Mildred Elgin Whittington. She married Arnold “Arkie” Zuidema on Oct. 27, 1950, in Morrison. He died in 1997.

She attended Hooppole grade school and Morrison High School.

She was employed with General Electric, Morrison, until 1977. She later owned and operated The Place, Morrison.

Survivors include two sons, Roger Zuidema of Morrison and Denis (Millie) Zuidema of Clinton; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorials will be established.
