Roger J. Steingraber

CLINTON — Roger J. Steingraber, 70, of Clinton, died Dec. 25 at the Bluff Terrace Nursing Facility, Clinton.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Open Door with the Rev. John Loyd officiating. There will be a flag presentation conducted by Clinton AMVETS Post 28. Visitation and lunch will follow the service at the church. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Jan. 2, 1935, in River Grove, Ill., to Fred and Martha (Rickerl) Steingraber. He married Joyce Doty on Dec. 22, 1955, in Clinton.

He was a River Grove High School and AIC, Davenport, graduate.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in the Korean War from 1952 to 1956.

He was a purchasing agent with International Paper for 25 years and later with Custom-Pak in Clinton for three years.

He was a member of the Church of the Open Door.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Craig (Penny) Steingraber of Sharpsburg, Ga., Scott (Lynette) Steingraber of Moline, Ill., and Todd Steingraber of Cookeville, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cambodia Fund at the Church of the Open Door.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and two sisters.
