MAQUOKETA — Ruth Ann Riordan, 65, of Maquoketa, died Sunday at Trinity Terrace Park, Bettendorf.

There will be a celebration of her life at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Carson and Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Bridgeport Cemetery, rural Maquoketa.

She was born Sept. 14, 1940, in Green Island to Glenn and Marie Weis Robinson Sr. She married Joseph L. Riordan on Sept. 14, 1977, in Mount Carroll, Ill. He died in 1997.

She attended Preston schools. She received CNA training at Clinton Community College.

She was a CNA.

She worked at various area nursing homes including the Mechanicsville Nursing Home and the former Jansen Residential Care Center, Maquoketa.

Survivors include her children, Ronald (Marlene) Krumviede of Spragueville, Dean (Rebecca) Krumviede of Storken, Minn., Elmer (Sally) Krumviede of Maquoketa, Mrs. Patricia (Michael) Howell II of Clinton, Larry (Dody) Riordan of Maquoketa, Troy Riordan of Maquoketa, Wesley Riordan of Fountain, Colo., and Vaughn “Lynn” Schminkey of Dubuque; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Gerald (Elaine) Robinson of Anamosa, Dale (Betty) Robinson of Boyd, Minn., and Carson (Elaine) Robinson of Warwick, R.I.; and sisters, Mrs. Jane (Joseph) Atkinson of Preston and Mrs. Nancy (Nicholas) Norgaard of Cullowhee, N.C.

A Ruth Ann Riordan Memorial Fund has been established.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one sister.

Death date: Dec. 25, 2005
